ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a well-organised and flexible person to join our team at Jadecliff and Marldon Christmas Tree Farm. This role is vital to the effective and smooth running of the organisation. You will be responsible for operating Sage One to record transactions and maintain accurate records.

Jadecliff is an organisation that has seen significant growth in the last three years. Management of the accountancy requirements for additional group businesses is required as part of the role.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Main Purpose of the Role: The main purpose of this post is to accurately record financial transactions and maintain the sales, purchase and nominal ledgers of Jadecliff Limited and additional businesses. The ability to produce periodic management accounts and quarterly VAT returns is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

Operating Sage One accounts system to record transactions and maintain accurate records, including:

PERSON SPECIFICATION
The ideal candidate will have excellent data input and spreadsheet skills, knowledge of double entry book keeping and computerised accounting programs. He/she will need to be able to use his/her own initiative, understand and liaise effectively with the various businesses, and maintain confidentiality where appropriate. He/she must be meticulous in paying attention to detail and initiating effective and efficient processes of work. Experience of Sage One/Excel is essential. Travelling and working between offices in Marldon, Devon and Newbury, Berkshire is required, nights away will be necessary during certain seasonal business activities and for training purposes.

Qualifications:

Essential – GCSE or equivalent in English & Maths (minimum Grade C or equivalent), IT related qualification
Desirable – AAT and above

Experience:

Essential – Good all round accounts experience; experience with Sage One; admin experience
Desirable – working in a small team

Skills and Knowledge:

Essential – Highly numerate with the ability to interpret financial information; excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office & Sage One accounting package; organised and the ability to prioritise workloads; flexible attitude to work and a good team player; good communication skills both written and verbal.

Other:

Essential – Able to use own initiative, prioritise and multi-task; a friendly, helpful and professional manner; ability to work under own initiative and as part of a small team; flexible approach to work and hours of working; the ability to remain discrete and retain confidentiality.

Desirable – driving licence

What we need you to do

Serve as the creative authority and visionary for all content across our Jadecliff’s Brand portfolio.
Hands-on in supporting the production of all content, from concept planning and production.
Identifying 3rd party opportunities and events to position brand offering and identity.

Skills

Education and Qualifications

What we look for

However if you have a degree level qualification, ideally within a relevant discipline such as Digital Marketing, Marketing or Communications, that would be desirable, but not essential. It is essential that you can produce evidence of appropriate professional development in marketing and social media, along with a portfolio of your work.

Knowledge and Skills

The successful post holder will have several years’ experience in a similar role/environment driving behaviour change and participation through digital means, showing professional competence in this area. In-depth knowledge and experience of current digital trends and tactics required along with the ability to advise on digital approaches and develop a strategy and direction to help us deliver our overarching strategic objectives. Familiar with Drupal, Google Analytics, HTML and the use of a CRM system.

Decision Making
Works to short term objectives where the impact of decisions will be evident within a few weeks. Works closely with the COO and MD, reporting in on a weekly basis. With oversight and accountability for continually developing and enhancing all digital marketing channels, the job holder will need to have good creative judgment to advise on content, copy and channel social media channel usage. The jobholder will routinely need to reprioritise plans and activities to meet changing needs of the organisation at short notice with pace and accuracy

Resourcefulness
We are in a fast paced campaign environment with a high volume of activity. This role demands a good level of flexibility and ability to prioritise and juggle tasks. The post holder will be required to source, analyse and make recommendations on data both in the market and from social media analytics and CRM. Adaptive thinking is key, using best practice and experience to identify new approaches to extending our campaign reach.

People and Asset Management
Support and supervision of the Marketing Coordinator with regard to developing e-comms in line with strategy and providing guidance on content, tone and proofing final ecomms. Responsibility for the maintenance and care of key digital assets including Social channels and website, film assets etc and a small budget for use in social and digital marketing, with oversight from the COO and MD.

Communication and Visitor Experience
Well-developed communications skills are integral to this role, involving the jobholder in such activities as creative writing, and content selection; together with being able to present and explain research feedback and proposals for ideas/changes. Concise but powerful, engaging communications will be a key factor of success in this role. External communications will be the face so quality and accuracy is key. Ability to copywrite and proofread key, a wide variety of channels and mediums used regularly and comms will be tailored for different audiences.

Operational Environment
An amount of flexible working, including evening and weekends and some overnight travel across the UK and Europe will be required to deliver this role. The role is office based as part of a hardworking, fun and passionate team spread across the UK and in the Netherlands
